Look what we did this week!

This week we made peacocks. We learned that peacocks are proud and they strut their stuff. I just love making these!! All the colors make me so happy! Everyone did very well using glue, all at the same time.

Our Peacocks and Color Wheel. Thank you for sending items to go on our color wheel!! Also thank you for sending yellow items to school. We loved talking about all the things that are yellow!

We began our color books this week. Once we learn about all our colors, I will send the books home.

Very cute drawings!! Each child is an artist and  love to showcase this!

Now, time to make our Mr. Sun! We first stared by painting a circle.

Once the circles were dry we began gluing our rays on!

A Fabulous First Day in 4-K!!

Our first day started off with a bang!! We learned the days of the week, and the months of the year. We also learned about the color yellow and how to say yellow is Spanish. Ask your child, you might just be surprised that they know it!!  We also made a book!

Below are pictures taken during centers today.

Miss B in the writing center. She was so proud of her creation!

Sweet Dreams Preschooler

I saw this really great idea and I had to make it my own. Meet the Teacher night, I gave all of my students this poem with an attached small bag of confetti.

I started by copying the poem to card stock.

The night before school is exciting and fun,
There are always so many things to be done.
Your clothes are ready, your backpack is too.
Your classroom is full of fun things to do.
Lots of questions go through your mind
All types of thoughts of every kind.
But sometimes we all get the jitters down deep,
And that makes it kind of hard to fall asleep.
So I’ve made this magic confetti for you,
Full of promises for the whole year through.
On Sunday night when your lay down your head,
Just sprinkle some under your pillow in bed.
The confetti will help you sleep though the night,
And wake up in the morning fresh and bright.
Ill sprinkle the confetti under my pillow too,
Because I am so super excited to see you!
                                      Sweet Dreams Preschooler,

All my materials that I used.

Super inexpensive confetti! I was able to find stars!! Yippee!!!!

The finished product!! Makes for a really great gift and it is a great alternative to candy!

Welcome to my Classroom

Well here it is a very clean, very white classroom. Just the way I like it.... a blank canvas.

Now time to move all this learning stuff in!!

Now that all the boxes are in, let the fun begin!!

The Word Wall is not quite complete because Mrs. Wolfe did not calculate enough ribbon. Also the local Hobby Lobby ran out of this particular ribbon. Go figure!! However it is on order and will be in soon!

If you have not already heard, I love the mouse!! That is Mickey Mouse. So a little Disney follows me everywhere I go!

I love, love, love the book CHICKA CHICKA BOOM BOOM!!!!! We will devote a whole week to this book! Look out because the art your children will create might just blow you away!!

A great little poem I found to teach children where the letters belong.

I love a good book center. Mine is not quite as large as I would prefer, however it is super cute!

Ah, the behavior system. All three sticks must stay in the pouch to get a surprise from the Polka Dot bucket on Wednesday!!

When you don't have a closet or cabinets, you make the best of the situation. A shoe hanger, extra large zip lock bags, and a few nails will get the job done!!
