Next we will have a little change in plans. We will have a review week. We will not talk about the Rainforest as planned. I do however have lots of fun activities planned for reviewing what we have learned. We will have homework Monday night. If your child has a book with a sticker on it, that book stays home. That means this book has been mastered and your child can proceed to the next book. The child has to read the book completely and must read 90% correct in order to move forward. I am very sorry I have not made this known before now.
Make sure to mark your calendars for SPRING BREAK. I am sure you all have, but on the off chance you have not Spring Break is March 19-23.
I am not sure you know this, but we only have 28 days left in school. Can you believe it???? So I am feeling the the pressure of the end of the year and so much to cover!!! Please know if I do send any "PAPER" homework home, it is very important. When written home work is sent home, this is an area in which I feel the whole class needs extra attention.
Below are just a few of the things we have learned about the past few weeks.
PIRATE WEEK
Cutting and pasting our pirates in sequential order.
Pirate Watercolor Painting. Your children love to watercolor!! So I try to do this as often as we can!!
Pirate Glyph. A glyph is where questions are read aloud and children are given choices how to color certain parts of the pirate. I was very proud at my little listeners!!!
What is a pirate week with out a treasure map??!! This week the focus was all about listening. With this activity, I would draw on my map and they would have to copy. We made each step together. I was super impressed with how well everyone did!!
We are counting our days down everyday!! This day we stamped as we counted!!
Our counting wall.
DR. SEUSS WEEK
Why yes we did eat GREEN EGGS AND HAM!!! Ms. Pam cooked us a fantastic snack!! You can not talk about Dr.Seuss and not have Green Eggs and Ham!!
So naturally we had to paint Green Eggs and Ham!!!
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish
Each child had to listen and write. Again I was so very proud of my little learners!!! We have come a very long way!!!
Painted Cat in the Hat, hats.
You can not even talk about Cat in the Hat without making THING 1 and THING 2. Look how well each face was drawn!!! Again, I so very proud!!!!
I look forward to seeing everyone on Monday!! Have a wonderful weekend!!
